Guitar and Instrumental Week
July 20th - 25th, 2008

Our principal tutors for this week include Eddie Walker, Steve Tilston, Frank McLauchlin, Graeme Gass, Simon Mayor, Hilary James, Wendy Stewart and Rowan Rheingans.

Many of our tutors are mulit-instrumentalists and there will be options available on a range of instruments. Simon Mayor and Nigel Gatherer will concentrate on mandolin, Neil Paterson on whistle and smallpipes and Wendy Stewart on clarsach.

Several of our tutors are also singers - although the focus of the week is one the guitar, the guitar and singers are natural allies and song will have its place in the week.

Guitar - Eddie Walker explores American Roots based acoustic guitar music that encompasses old time country blues, ragtime, hillbilly, swing and folk. more information on Eddie's class

Eddie Walkers 'Tutor Newsletter'

Registration is on Sunday afternoon. In the evening there will be a 'Welcome Session' a relaxed event and a chance to get to know your tutors and familiarise yourself with the facilities of Glaisnock.

Classes start at 9.15 on Monday morning and finish on Friday afternoon. There will be a concert on Thursday evening when staff and students will perform. There will be a programme of evening activities and various social activities throughout the week.
